Kaveri Seth is a performing artist and choreographer trained in the Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam, exploring a fusion of contemporary dance and Bharatanatyam in her work. She has recently graduated with an MFA in Dance Design & Production with Honors from Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga, California.
As a choreographer, what interests Kaveri is the kinesthetic relationship that exists between performer and spectator. She believes that through movement one can share experiences visually, intellectually and viscerally, holding the ability to bring about transformation of the heart.
Aside from her background in dance, Kaveri has played the lead role of Jyoti in Bay Area Drama Company's rendition of Vijay Tendulkar's play Kanyadaan as well as the lead role of Ratna in their rendition of Mahesh Dattani's Dance Like a Man. She has also collaborated on various projects as a graphic designer, photographer, film-maker, and lighting designer.
Her latest projects include lighting design and photography for XO: eXquisite Orientation by Paufve | dance, lighting design for Swivel: Hinge: Return by Wax Poets, lighting design for Bay Area Drama Company's Counter Offense, photography for Strangers Become Flowers by Paufve | dance, pjotography for Stranger Lover Dreamer among others.
